Position Summary

The Associate Information Security Analyst will be working with the Information Security team to support security activities that identify and prevent security risks to Children's Minnesota. This includes supporting the analysis and implementation of various security controls and processes such as system monitoring, detection and response, data protection, threat and vulnerability management, risk analysis and security awareness training initiatives as directed by management. The analyst will work in a variety of security tools and ServiceNow ticketing system.

DHS Background Study Required? No

License/Certification/Registration:
*CompTIA Security+, GIAC certifications or similar, preferred.

Education:
*Associate Degree is required in a computer field OR 12+ months Information Security work experience and certification in cyber security.
*Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience:
*Minimum one (1) years of Information Security experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
*Experience creating security awareness articles and PowerPoints.
*Experience and comfortable doing presentations and training users.
*Experience using security awareness training tools such as KnowBe4 or similar.
*Experience or knowledge in conducting phishing exercises.
*Experience or knowledge in threat intelligence, conducting threat research and hunting and documenting leadership briefings. Experience with threat intelligence tools such as Recorded Future preferred.
*Knowledge of SOC tools and processes, preferably in M365 environment, which may include working with our MDR provider, incident response plans, SIEM, forensics, DLP and CASB tools.
*Knowledge in vulnerability management processes utilizing tools such as Rapid7 and Tanable.
*Ability to identify issues or security gaps in systems and processes and recommend mitigation strategies to management.
*Ability to collaborate with other technical resources to ensure timely implementation of security solutions / risk mitigations.
*Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently with minimal supervision (i.e., self-motivated and willing to stretch to meet important deadlines).
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
