Department Overview
Through a collaborative program with the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board the ESMC Department at Children's provides statewide resources for education, system development and research on pediatric emergency medicine. Staff also participate in governmental task forces, regional emergency service programs, and professional services to advocate for children whom are critically is and/or injured.
Position Summary
This statewide position exists to provide program development and evaluation, direction, management and program promotion for the Emergency Medical Services for Children Resource Center and EMSC programs. The manager will collaborate, facilitate, manage and integrate the emergency medical services for children in the current Emergency Medical Services systems thus providing children and their families with competent and effective emergency care. Primary accountabilities include meeting or exceeding customer expectations through systems development, evaluation and program planning and resource management.
1. Bachelors degree required in health care related field.
2. Two years previous leadership /management experience required.
3. Demonstrated effective leadership communication, and organizational skills required. This includes:
a. Change leadership ability
b. Diversity leadership
c. Analytic and evaluation skills including financial analysis
d. Influence skills
e. Verbal and written communication skills
f. Individuals and group coaching and facilitation skills
g. Conflict management skills
h. Goal setting and prioritization ability
4. Current health provider licensure, or appropriate
5. Minimum 2 years working with children.
6. Computer network skills, ability to access research and public information.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
