Work as part of team that includes Cancer and Blood Disorder physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing, social work, physical therapy, nutrition, child life, clinic assistants and researchers.

The department at Children's of Minnesota provides care for children of all ages with all types of malignancies including brain tumors, solid tumors, and leukemia; and blood disorders such as sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, and anemia. As the largest provider of services for children with cancer and bleeding disorders in the region, the Cancer and Blood Disorders program focuses on providing well-coordinated knowledge-driven clinical care. We participate in national and international research and are leaders in research on supportive care and quality of life for children with cancer and bleeding disorders.

 


Position Summary

Promotes positive patient and family experience as first impression of the clinic by creating a welcoming atmosphere to all clinic guests. The Patient Service Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and orderly registration and check-in of patients. Obtains accurate and complete patient demographic, financial information and required consents.

 

 

 

 

License/Certification/Registration required? No

Education:
*High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:
*One year of customer service experience required
*One year of medical office setting experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Exceptional customer service skills
*Communicate and interact in respectful and professional manner
*Contribute to positive clinic team work environment
*Proper spelling and grammar
*Ability to perform front desk clinic functions
*Computer knowledge and navigating
*HIPAA knowledge and ability to handle confidential information
*Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
*Apply logical thinking to problem solve
