Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) that practice in accordance with the state nurse practice act, hospital policy and procedures, the professional staff rules and regulations, and other regulatory standards. APRN/NP practice includes providing care to infants, children and young adults through assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. This may include, but is not limited to, health histories, physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment and management of common pediatric illness, chronic or acute conditions, behavioral problems or trauma ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing age-appropriate medications and therapeutic devices, and providing counseling and education to children, families and communities. Care may include primary care pediatrics and/or subspecialty care of the child with an acute or chronic.
Required:
Current Minnesota RN license.
Current MN APRN license.
Practitioner certification required:
Acute Care - PNP issued by Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Master's or higher degree in nursing with a focus in clinical specialization. Nurse
500 hours of clinical experience within the last 36 months (may be fulfilled through graduate clinical hours).
Current BLS Certification.
